Trump calls John Thune “Mitch’s Boy”

12/22/20 By Devin Saxon. Thune told reporters on Capitol Hill Monday that Trump’s bid to overturn the presidential election via the US House rejecting the Electoral College will go down like a “shot dog” in the Senate.

“The thing they’ve got to remember is, it’s just not going anywhere. I mean, in the Senate it would go down like a shot dog. And I just don’t think it makes a lot of sense to put everybody through this when you know what the ultimate outcome is going to be.” – John Thune

Thune made the remarks shortly before voting to pass the 2nd largest spending bill in US History riddled with pork for special interests and foreign countries, little if anything having to do with “covid relief” as the bill’s title suggests.

Trump fired back Tuesday night on social media, “Republicans in the Senate so quickly forget. Right now they would be down 8 seats without my backing them in the last Election. RINO John Thune, ‘Mitch’s boy,’ should just let it play out. South Dakota doesn’t like weakness. He will be primaried in 2022, political career over!!!”

Trump rejected the 2.3 trillion dollar covid relief bill sent to his desk calling it a “disgrace.” The second highest spending bill in US History rejected by Trump was favored by US Senators John Thune, Mike Rounds, and US House Representative Dusty Johnson.

Thune is currently the GOP Whip in the US Senate, #2 behind Mitch McConnell the Senate’s majority leader. Thune reportedly said “It’s a question of how long we have to stay around here, “ when asked if he has plans to take the #1 position.
